Posted by John Brhel on June 27, 2022
The Fourth of July is a great time to celebrate America’s independence and enjoy some summertime fun. From fantastic fireworks displays to patriotic performances, there are plenty of fun things to do around Independence Day in the Binghamton area.
Catch a ballgame
Baseball is America’s pastime, which makes it the perfect event to enjoy on the Fourth of July. Watch the team take on the Portland Sea Dogs, then stick around for the park’s largest fireworks show of the year: Bing, Bang, Boom!
Have a blast at Highland Park
Highland Park’s Fourth of July Extravaganza is one of the go-to Fourth of July events in Broome County. Enjoy parades, live music, rides, carnival games and more during the day, then cap off the festivities with a spectacular fireworks display at night!
Party out of town
If you’re up for a short road trip, there are some great Fourth of July events happening in nearby towns. Head to Montrose for their Craft Show and Parade, or stop by Candor for their celebration featuring a carnival car show, fireworks and more!
Go the distance
Kick off the celebration with some exercise! 4 on the 4th is a four-mile road race in Endwell that ends with a party! Get some miles in and have some fun with family and friends.
Rock out at Tioga Downs
Want to support America’s veterans and have a good time? Head to Tioga Downs on Friday, July 1 and catch a performance by southern rock band Marshall Tucker. All sales will benefit the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group.
Explore the art scene
Binghamton is home to a vibrant art community, and there's no better way to experience it firsthand than the First Friday Art Walk. Featuring 45 downtown locations, including a variety of galleries and studios, the Art Walk is a great way to kick off the weekend.
