Lavender Celebration and Pride Awards

Lavender Graduation is held at colleges and universities around the country as a way to honor the success of LGBTQ students graduating with their Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees. Here at Binghamton University, we combine the presentation of graduates with our annual awards ceremony to create one grand end-of-the-year celebration!  Lavender Celebration and Pride Awards will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 3 pm via Zoom (to be shared through BEngaged). We invite everyone, including allies to zoom in and celebrate with us!

We will still look back at the academic year with Queer Year In Review; offer a hearty congratulations to the Class of 2023 at the completion of their first year; give a special thank you and shout out to the army of 2019-2020 Q Center Volunteers and Interns; present the Pride Awards to students, faculty, and staff awardees; and present graduates with a lavender tassel to be worn during the University's official graduation ceremony if they choose.

Graduating in May or August of 2020?  There is still time to sign up for Lavender Celebration!

Students who graduated in December of 2019 or who will graduate in May or August of 2020 are eligible to be acknowledged during Lavender Celebration.
