Steven Moore earned his BA in English in 2004 and MFA in Writing in 2007 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After teaching introductory writing courses for a short time at UAF, he came to Binghamton University to further his education. He entered the Master's program in Computer Science at Binghamton University, graduating from the program in 2012.

After graduation, Steven Moore was recruited by the Lockheed Martin Corporation into their Engineering Leadership Development Program, where he worked on many software projects and completed their ELDP program. He found his way back to Binghamton University in 2014 as a Web Developer in the Communications and Marketing department and Adjunct Lecturer for Binghamton University. In Fall 2015, he became a full time lecturer in the Computer Science program.
