Background

Elizabeth Pisani-Woodruff ‘13, MSW ‘17, MPA ‘17, is a licensed social work clinician, residing in the Binghamton area. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Binghamton University in 2013 and continued at Binghamton for postgraduate study, obtaining her master’s in social work and master’s in public administration from the College of Community and Public Affairs. There she developed a passion for mental health and trauma work, which she continued to pursue in her postgraduate clinical work at Ascension Lourdes Hospital.

At Lourdes, Pisani-Woodruff worked with individuals, families and groups of all ages, from toddlers to those in the end stages of life. She also took initiative to expand trauma-informed care approaches with colleagues and staff at Lourdes. Pisani-Woodruff utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, employing various practice models through a trauma-focused care lens. She is a strong advocate for survivors of trauma, including addressing barriers to care in an effort to expand outreach and access. Pisani-Woodruff is also the trauma therapist liaison with the VARCC (Violence, Abuse and Rape Crisis Center) at Binghamton University. She enjoys gardening, traveling, Dave Matthews Band and creating joyful memories with her dogs, friends and family. “If you give, you begin to live, you get the world.” - DMB
