Education

The Motion Analysis Research Lab promotes learning through lab experiences that are integral parts of student curricula.

Faculty and students use the MARL to study human kinetics including movement analysis (gait), balance testing (fall risk) and more, using technologies to inform evaluation and rehabilitation of injury, illness, post-operative care and return-to-home recovery.

The MARL is also used to introduce leading research trends in human kinetics to students; some students may take part in research projects, become MARL assistants or volunteer in the lab.

Laboratory equipment is also used for interprofessional education experiences that bring together students from Binghamton University’s physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, public health, pharmacy, social work and pre-med/pre-health disciplines.
