Decker College’s programs in nursing are intended to prepare students for New York state licensure and certification requirements. Admission into these nursing programs (undergraduate and graduate) does not guarantee students will obtain a license or certificate. Licensure and certification requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with Decker College, and licensure and certification requirements can change at any time at the discretion of the state/territory licensing board.
Licensing Disclosures
Programs in the Decker School of Nursing, part of Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, are registered by the New York State Education Department and therefore meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification in New York state. Through a reasonable faith effort and for the purpose of complying with federal regulations, amendment CFR 668 effective July 1, 2024, we have determined that the programs at the Decker School of Nursing meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification in New York state.
However, the Decker School of Nursing is not the licensure authority in the U.S. and cannot assess whether an individual candidate will be issued a license in states outside of New York. Instead, it is incumbent on each individual candidate to contact the licensure/certification authority in the applicable state for further guidance on the requirements for licensure/certification and application processes. Get information and access a list of state licensure/certification authorities.
Federal regulations require institutions delivering courses by distance education to provide students or prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with the state approval or licensing entity. For students from State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) participating states, see State Regulations and Restrictions Complaint Resolution.
