Background

Tia Spagnuolo is a clinical instructor and licensed speech-language pathologist in the Division of Speech and Language Pathology at Binghamton University's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Prior to joining Decker College in August 2023, Spagnuolo worked for the SUNY Research Foundation and served as the manager of the NIH-funded Vocabulary and Reading in Youth and Children (VARY) Lab. Spagnuolo has academic experience from her time as an assistant professor at Misericordia University, as well as experience in private practice development and management.

Spagnuolo has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals with voice disorders. She has presented research in the fields of voice and fluency at international, national and state conferences. Her current research interests include intersectional healthcare, health and healthcare disparities among minoritized communities, and gender-affirming voice and communication training.
