Each ES2 university site has significant infrastructure. These facilities, available to all ES2 collaborators, expanded during Phase I, with support from each campus as well as in-kind equipment donations from ES2 member companies.
ES2 facilities at Binghamton University include a 4,500-square-foot data center laboratory, providing the scale of a mid-range data center, along with a separate 1,200-square-foot staging laboratory, a thermal laboratory and space for a full-sized container-based data center.
At UTA, facilities include an electronics cooling lab, as well as two 625-square-foot data center lab facilities, a $145 million engineering research lab, and the preeminent university-based nanotechnology research, development, and teaching facility in north Texas.
Villanova University is home to several research facilities, including the Laboratory for Advanced Thermal and Fluid Systems, NovaTherm – the Thermal and Flow Management of Multiscale Systems Laboratory and the Multiscale System Analysis Laboratory.
