Facilities Master Plan (FMP)

Faclities Master Plan Background and Process

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) conducted Facilities Master Plans (FMPs) at each of the 32 four-year SUNY campuses. The plans will provide criteria and guidelines for campus improvements and facilities developments for a ten-year period . SUCF conducted the unique large-scale planning effort with the distinct charge for each campus’ facilities plan to be closely aligned with its academic mission and strategic vision.

The consultant  was secured to conduct Binghamton University’s FMP. Through analysis of the University from diverse perspectives, the consultant developed a unified and flexible plan that captures the spirit of Binghamton University and addresses facilities challenges and opportunities at the existing campuses and other opportunity sites. The FMP followed a five-phase process, as outlined by SUCF, consisting of:

  • Phase 1: Campus Profile
  • Phase 2: Assessment of Conditions
  • Phase 3: Analysis of Space Needs
  • Phase 4: Concept Alternatives
  • Phase 5: Final Recommendations
  • The five phases have been completed. A master plan will be posted shortly.
