Binghamton University scientist seeks ancient climate clues under Antarctic ice
Molly Patterson is the co-chief scientist of an international research expedition.
The Department of Earth Sciences offers both the BS and BA degrees in geology, a number of minors, and a combined, five year program leading to the BS and MS degrees in geological sciences. Graduate programs include an MS and PhD in geological sciences. The program regularly hosts seminars by noted geologists. The program generally has an annual field trip, usually over spring break, to examine geological relationships in other parts of the country. Recent field trips include Florida, Texas, southern California, Wisconsin, the Southwest US, and Maryland.
