Their contributions help create a dynamic and responsive library environment benefiting both the institution and the student workforce.

Library Undergraduate Research Scholars Program
The Binghamton Libraries Research Scholars Program provides undergraduate students
with experience working on a guided research project. Participating students will
work closely with a library faculty or professional staff mentor on a library-related
research project that strengthens research skills and provides the opportunity to
build upon personal research interests. Research results will be published in the
ORB, Binghamton’s institutional repository. Scholars will be awarded $2,000 at the
completion of their projects.

Faculty Positions
Librarians at Binghamton have faculty status. Among the considerations for appointment are academic record, relevant experience, references, and interpersonal skills. It is expected that a master's degree in library and/or information science will be required; additional advanced degrees may be required if there is a need for subject specialization. The successful candidate's appointment reflects not only present competence but also the potential for professional growth and development.
