Background

Tony Godoy holds a BM in trumpet performance and an MM in music education, both from the Ithaca College School of Music. He has studied trumpet performance and pedagogy with Kim Dunnick, Frank Campos, Rex Richardson, Jim Hynes, Roger Ingram and Bobby Shew. 

Godoy toured as a member of The Cadets (Drum Corps International) and as an active duty trumpet player for the United States Air Force (in The Band of Liberty Concert Band and The Ambassadors Jazz Ensemble). He has also performed with Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Jack Jones, Helen Reddy, Crystal Gale, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The Lettermen, The Platters, The Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra, The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra and many others. 

Godoy is currently the director of bands at Johnson City High School and the trumpet instructor at both SUNY Broome Community College and Binghamton University. In addition, he maintains a busy schedule as a freelance trumpet performer in upstate New York and northern Pennsylvania.
