New Student Programs Mission
New Student Programs supports the process of acclimating all entering students and their families to life at Binghamton through student-centered, comprehensive programs that serve as the cornerstone on which academic success and positive social transitions are built. This is done through inclusive programming, peer leadership, and collaborative partnerships across campus. We encourage personal growth, belonging, and engagement with the Binghamton community and beyond.
Orientation Mission
The largest program New Student Programs facilitates is Orientation, which serves as an essential step in a student and family's transition to Binghamton University. Orientation introduces all new students to the University's diverse educational opportunities and resources; provides structured opportunities for interaction with peers, continuing students, faculty, and staff; and fosters in students a sense of place in Binghamton University's community. Orientation establishes the relationship between families and the University and offers support throughout the transition and throughout their time at the University.
