CNY LGBTQ Child Welfare Coalition

The Central New York LGBTQ Child Welfare Coalition is a multi-dimensional education and advocacy coalition developed to support the unique needs of foster and adoptive LGBTQ families and LGBTQ youth involved in the Child Welfare system, to enhance the community's understanding of and sensitivity to these needs through open, respectful dialogue, and to promote recruitment of LGBTQ-affirming foster and adoptive families. 

Bi-monthly meetings are hold in Syracuse /NY.

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Child Welfare Coalition
Composed of a network of professionals, foster and adoptive parents, affirming congregations, organizations, and businesses committed to the welfare of all families and providing specific support for LGBTQ children, youth, and families, Hudson Valley Child Welfare Coalition commits itslef to :
* Raise awareness of LGBTQ children, youth, and families in the child welfare system,
* Provide focused education and training,
* Identify and provide web links to pertinent resources,
* Create networks of support and community for current and prospective LGBTQ foster and adoptive parents, and families,
* Build connections with other LGBTQ organizations in the region.
 

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Child Welfare Coalition currently includes representatives from:
