How do you make decisions in dating situations?

Study Flow and Time Commitment:

  • Interested participants must complete a screening survey. This will likely require less than 5 minutes of your time.

  • If eligible, participants will be contacted by the Center for Transdisciplinary Research on Intimate Relationships with a link for an online study survey. This survey may require between 30-60 minutes of your time.
  • After the online survey is completed, you will schedule an in-person study visit at Binghamton University. At the visit, you will complete an experiment that requires approximately 60 minutes.
  • You will be compensated with $30 immediately following completion of the in-person study visit.

Study Information:

  • This is a research study being conducted at Binghamton University campus (Clearview Hall) by the Center for Transdisciplinary Research on Intimate Relationships. The purpose of this work is to explore different elements of people‚Äôs attitudes and beliefs about dating, institutional policies, and certain groups (e.g., women and trans people). Additionally, this study uses a safe form of brain stimulation to evaluate your decision-making. This study has received Institutional Review Board approval. 
  • Participants that complete the study will receive financial compensation of $30 or more for their time. This is an online and in-person research study and may require up to two hours of participation time for study procedures.
