National Gallery of Art Predoctoral Fellowship Program

For advanced graduate research in the history, theory, and criticism of art, architecture, and urbanism. Application made through nomination of the chair of a graduate department of art history or other appropriate department. Applicant must have completed all departmental requirements, course work, residency, and examinations. Certification in two languages other than English is required. Applicants must be either US citizens or enrolled in a US university.

The stipend for predoctoral dissertation fellowships is $25,000 per year. A housing allowance is available for fellows not in residence.
