Chateaubriand Doctoral STEM Fellowship

This grant offered by the Embassy of France in the U.S. allows doctorate students enrolled in American universities to conduct research in a French laboratory (public or private) for 4 to 9 months. Knowledge of French is not mandatory and is left to the discretion of the host institution.

Recipients are provided with a monthly allowance, support for travel to and from France, and support for health insurance abroad.

Priority is given to candidates working toward a dual PhD degree with their host institution.
