Management Information Systems Specialization for PhD in Management
Understanding the technology and analytics processes underlying change and uncertainty is critical to promoting organizational effectiveness and viability. The curriculum of the Management Information Systems (MIS) specialization explores both emergent topics and traditional information systems (IS) theory and practice. PhD students take several data analytic/quantitative modeling courses, MIS topic area courses, and elective courses in advanced graduate study programs students feel supplement their IS training.
Most students complete their PhD within four years. Below are the major milestones we expect our students to achieve:
- Year 1: Present original empirical paper and submit to a conference or journal.
- Year 2: Complete comprehensive exams.
- Year 3: Successfully defend research dissertation proposal.
