Guidelines for Undergraduate Re-enrollment
Who needs to re-enroll?
- Any student who misses three (3) consecutive semesters (Fall/Spring or Spring/Fall).
How do I re-enroll?
- Complete the application:
- Submit the completed application prior to the start of the semester of re-enrollment.
How do I find out if my re-enrollment is approved?
- We will notify you by email, once your re-enrollment is complete.
Is there anything that will prevent my re-enrollment?
- Holds: Suspensions, dismissals, missing health forms, and/or outstanding debts.
- All students enrolled in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) must receive clearance from the director of EOP.
- Prior bachelor’s degree.
What about financial aid eligibility?
- If your re-enrollment is approved, this decision does not imply restoration of eligibility for financial aid (including student loans). Please consult with the Office of Financial Aid before making final plans to return to Binghamton University.
Suspended student follow these additional guidelines
Harpur College of Arts and Sciences
Suspension lasts for two major semesters. Student suspended for the second time is not eligible to return. Contact the Academic Advising office at 607-777-6305 to appeal dismissal.
Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences admissions committee will review the application to determine if student is eligible for re-enrollment.
College of Community and Public Affairs School of Management
Suspension lasts for one major semester. Student who has been out on suspension and whose GPA is under the academic dismissal index will return under a contract.
School of Management
School of Management will review the application to determine if student is eligible for re-enrollment.
Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science
Suspension lasts for one major semester. A third suspension is considered dismissal. Student must petition the Watson College Academic Affairs Committee in writing to appeal dismissal.
Re-enrollment Checklist
- Contact your academic advisor after you receive your re-enrollment acceptance letter.
- Obtain your student ID card from the Registrar's Office. It is required for access to many buildings and on-campus services.
Visit bubrain.binghamton.edu to:
- View or pay any outstanding debts on BU Brain
- Register for classes on BU Brain. (Note: For Summer or Winter Session registrations, visit binghamton. edu/summer or binghamton.edu/winter)
- Confirm your enrollment via BU Brain
- Contact Financial Aid prior to the start of classes if you are seeking aid.
- Contact Residential Life for information about on-campus housing.
- Contact Student Accounts to make payment arrangements.
- Confirm your enrollment via BU BRAIN.
- If you are an international student, and will return to Binghamton on an F-1 or J-1 visa, contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for additional requirements.
