The Impact Incubator program at the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) helps Binghamton University students launch initiatives that will have a positive impact on the campus and/or local community.
Students interested in applying should schedule a meeting with Trevor Fornara, Civic Education Coordinator at the CCE, to discuss your proposed impact initiative.
Impact initiatives are:
- Engaged in active dialogue about topics relevant to the initiate, including providing opportunities for the student body to engage in broader conversations regarding such topics;
- Continuous in their efforts, with a plan to continue the initiative following the departure of the student applicants from the University;
- Sustainable in their practices, as to minimize environmental impact and resource waste;
- Measurable using assessment strategies, informed by standard research practices;
- Marketable to students, grantors, donors, locals, and/or the general public;
Impactful—meaningfully and in a positive way—on the campus and/or local community
Students promote the CCE’s mission to cultivate partnerships that strengthen communities and develop active and engaged citizens as well as establish a mechanism for investing in student-led initiatives that aim to promote civic and/or community engagement.
