Programs

The Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) offers a variety of events and programs designed to engage and educate the Binghamton campus community. 

Cultural Workshops
These workshops often focus on different cultures, traditions, and practices to promote understanding and appreciation among students from diverse backgrounds.

Guest Speakers and Panels
The MRC frequently invites speakers from various fields to discuss topics related to multiculturalism, social justice, and diversity, providing students with insight and inspiration.

Social Events
These events are designed to foster community among students. Examples include cultural festivals, heritage month celebrations, and networking nights that allow students to connect and share experiences.

Educational Programs
The MRC hosts programs that aim to educate students about issues of identity, equity and expression, helping to create a more inclusive campus environment.

Collaborative Events
The MRC collaborates with other campus organizations to promote diversity and inclusion through joint events, enhancing the reach and impact of their initiatives.

These events and programs are designed to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all students and to encourage dialogue and understanding across cultures.

Collaborate with us!

We collaborate with offices, divisions, departments, and student organizations to educate the campus community through initiatives that aim to increase awareness and understanding of cultural diversity. When working with the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), please specify the type of support you need, whether it be programmatic assistance or financial help, based on availability. If you are requesting funding, include the total event budget and the specific sponsorship amount you are seeking. If you would like us to conduct a presentation or program, please specify the topic you have in mind. Also, if you have a preference for a specific MRC staff member to present, please let me know.

MRC Event Collaboration Requests Guidelines
Collaborative programming includes educational development, leadership and professional development, student recruitment, student retention, and inclusive community building.

How to Apply
Please complete the MRC Collaboration Request Form at least four weeks before the event to be considered for program assistance, financial sponsorship, or to request a presentation for your organization. After reviewing your submission, a member of our staff will be in touch with you.

Post Event Survey
Please remember to complete the MRC Post-Event Summary Form no later than 10 days after your event if payment is expected.
