The Binghamton University NSLS chapter was started in 2015. As of 2025, we have more than 2,600 members. Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement and leadership potential, with access to:

Frequently Asked Questions
Why was I invited to join NSLS?
Nomination criteria are determined by local chapter advisors and are based on GPA
and/or leadership potential. Students invited to their school's chapter have earned
distinction with their nomination, but must complete the leadership program requirements
to be inducted.
What are the steps to be inducted?
The average time to complete the induction steps is approximately nine hours. While
most members finish in a single semester, you may take longer if needed, as long as
you finish before graduating.
What is the cost of membership?
NSLS members pay a one-time fee of $95 when applying to join the organization. The
fee includes all membership benefits and partner discounts. Membership does not expire
or need renewal.
