BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University’s Institute for Asia and Asian Diasporas will host an Asian paper craft workshop from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 15 at the Cooperative Gallery, 213 State Street in Binghamton. Open to the public, a $5 donation for materials is payable at the door.
Participating adults and teens, ages 13 and up, will have the opportunity to learn new ways to use paper three-dimensionally by creating pop-up lotus flowers, Chinese spring lanterns, Filipino parol stars and Chinese paper-cut dragons. All of the Asian projects make great party decorations and are fun and easy to create.
This event is co-sponsored by the Cooperative Gallery, an “Arts of Asia in the Classroom” program.
Seating is limited. To sign-up for the workshop or for more information, contact Karen Madsen at kmadsen@binghamton.edu.
