BINGHAMTON, NY - Binghamton University will hold its annual Homecoming weekend celebration from Friday through Saturday, Sept. 23-25. Sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association, Homecoming 2016 will be a celebration of Binghamton pride for alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the University. More than 1,000 alumni are expected to return to campus for a wide variety of events that will reconnect them to the University and to each other.

Signature events of Homecoming 2016 include the following:

·      The largest event of the weekend will be the tailgate party, taking place from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Events Center Parking lot. This will lead into the men’s soccer game against the Buffalo Bulls at 6 p.m., in the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Homecoming soccer game sells out every year.

·      Bill T. Jones, a Binghamton University alumnus and internationally acclaimed dancer, will bring his dance company to the Anderson Center for its first-ever performance in Binghamton, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

·      Three Binghamton University alumni – all of whom are political experts frequently quoted by national news media – will discuss the future of the American political system during the speaker event TIER Talks (Talks that Inspire, Educate and Resonate), presented by M&T Bank, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Watters Theater.

·      LGBTQ alumni will come to campus for a reunion and to celebrate the opening of the University’s new LGBTQ Center, which will be a resource for current students and alumni, from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in the Alumni Center.

·      WHRW, the University’s student-run radio station, will have a 50th anniversary reunion welcoming alumni who were involved with campus radio to see friends and celebrate this important milestone.

·      A new event titled "Bing Brews and Bands," organized in partnership with lifestyle guide and event planning firm BingPop, will be held at various locations throughout downtown Binghamton, and will feature local entertainment and breweries.
