BINGHAMTON, NY -- Binghamton University’s Summer Youth Musical Theater Workshop will present a full production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” this summer. Auditions will be held on Friday, May 18 and Sunday, May 20, in the Casadesus Recital Hall on campus.

Directed and produced by theater professionals including Brenda Dawe, Elaine Nicholson and Todd Robinson, who all have notable accomplishments in acting, directing, and music, the workshop provides opportunities for artistic growth, self-expression, education, and teamwork by exposing participants to all aspects of a musical theater production.

Interested students will be provided with a song choice and monologue to prepare and memorize prior to auditions. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Friday, Jun. 1.

The auditions are held for a three-week intensive musical theater workshop from Sunday, Jul. 22 to Sunday Aug. 12 for students 12 to 18 years old. The workshop also offers individual and group voice training, acting and improvisation classes, movement and dance classes, make-up and stagecraft experience. The registration deadline is May 18.

The cost is $425 with a deposit of $100, required for the registration and audition.
