BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University will host the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Memorial Association ceremony to honor officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty at 11 a.m. Monday, Apr. 30, in front of the Couper Administration building on campus.

The front of the administration building will be blocked off to traffic to allow a motorcade of police cars to proceed from the city of Binghamton to the ceremony, which kicks off a week of commemorative activities in the Southern Tier.

The ceremony will include the raising of two flags, placement of a wreath, the reading of the names of fallen officers and a 20-gun salute. Binghamton University police officers will form the color guard to raise the U.S. flag. The second flag, representing the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Association, will be raised by other Southern Tier officers.

Broome County Executive Debbie Preston will be the main speaker. Members of the campus community and the public are invited to attend.
