BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University will host "Party with a Purpose" from 7-10 p.m., Friday, March 14, at Terra Cotta, 81 State St., Binghamton. This event is open to individuals who are ages 18 and above.

"Party with a Purpose" is a 100 percent student-run event established to raise awareness of the importance of civic engagement and to encourage professional and aspiring, local community leaders to be more active in their surrounding communities. An informative networking experience designed for professionals and aspiring community leaders alike, "Party with a Purpose" serves as a means to give back to the greater Binghamton area.

The concept was created by a small group of Binghamton University Masters of Public Administration graduates and all funds raised from the event go to Binghamton University’s Philanthropy Incubator for donation to local nonprofit organizations. Hors d'oeuvres and pastries will be provided, along with music by Kreative Sound Entertainment. A raffle drawing for prizes will be held at 9 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and will be available for sale from noon-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, in the lobby of the Downtown Center.
