BINGHAMTON, NY -- William H. Groner, a 1977 graduate of Binghamton University and co-founding and managing partner at the Westchester County-based law firm Worby Groner Edelman LLP, will give a presentation titled "Ground Zero Dust: Its Mysterious Medical Consequences and the Resulting Epic First-Responders Litigation" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Casadesus Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building, on campus. This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

In 2004, Groner embarked on a decade-long litigation in which he co-managed the firm's mass tort lawsuit, involving more than 10,000 first responders, construction workers and volunteers who became ill from their exposure to contaminants and toxins at Ground Zero. He was a principal negotiator, and the suit was settled for more than $800 million. He has made numerous radio and TV appearances including ABC's 20/20, CNN (Worldwide), Good Day New York, Fox 5, CBS and NBC.

Groner is a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. This event is sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association and Harpur College of Arts and Sciences. For more information, contact the University's Office of Alumni Relations at (607) 777-2424.
