BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – "Healthcare: Call to Action" will be the topic of the next Binghamton University Forum breakfast program, held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Binghamton Club, 83 Front St., Binghamton. The breakfast buffet will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the formal program at 8 a.m.

Lisanne Bobby, director of strategic planning for the Lourdes Health System, and Robin Kinslow-Evans, vice president for strategic planning at United Health Services, will speak about the changing healthcare landscape since the passing of the Affordable Care Act. The presentation will touch on the required local and national transformation of the healthcare delivery system as a result of the enactment of the Affordable Care Act and the implications of healthcare as a major driver for the local economy. This presentation will encourage members and attendees to reflect on whether healthcare is a right or a privilege, and will address what our personal responsibility is for the health status of our community.

Bobby joined Lourdes in August 2003. She provides leadership in development, coordination and monitoring of the organization’s strategic plan and business development initiatives to address community healthcare needs. She has expertise in designing, creating, and implementing innovative programs and services, which support corporate and integrative growth, and has been actively involved in a regional collaborative to improve community health by transforming the healthcare delivery system and engaging people in their health. In addition, she participates on national committees for Ascension Health and serves on several community boards.

Prior to joining Lourdes, Bobby served in leadership positions at United Hospital Services Hospitals and the Guthrie Health System. She received her master’s in healthcare administration degree from Tulane University, with an emphasis in strategic planning and financial management. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and, through her church, served a voluntary 18-month mission in England.

Kinslow-Evans joined United Health Services (UHS) as vice president for strategic planning in February 2007. In this role, she is responsible for strategic and operational planning, business development, productivity management, real estate and the occupational health program. Additionally, she is the privacy officer for UHS. She also serves as the acting executive director of the Southern Tier Rural Integrated Performing Provider System, otherwise known as Care Compass Network.

Prior to joining UHS, Kinslow-Evans held a series of progressively responsible senior management positions in planning and business development for hospital systems, including Bon Secours Health System, Henry Ford Health System, Chicago Osteopathic Health System (HCA) and Lutheran Hospital of Indiana.

A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Kinslow-Evans received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia and a master of science degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.
