Biography
Chen is the author of eight books and numerous articles in literature, history, philosophy, translation, and language pedagogy. His works include A Chronological Biography of Zhang Yue 张说年谱 (Chinese University of Hong Kong Press, 1984) and Confucian Literature of the Tang and Song Dynasties: An Annotated Anthology (Routledge, 2025).
He currently serves as editor-in-chief of TheaComm: An E-Journal of Theater Arts Communication. A sought-after speaker, Chen has lectured at dozens of universities across the United States and China.
