The Decker School of Nursing and our affiliated clinical agencies abide by New York State (NYS) Department of Health regulations, which mandate physical examinations and annual assessments for all persons who engage in patient contact.
All students enrolling in clinical courses must submit a completed health form and fulfill all health requirements prior to the appropriate program deadline. Clinical practice includes any/all hospital, nursing home, outpatient and community experiences. As these experiences are requirements for first-semester clinical-nursing courses, failure to comply with all health requirements by the deadline will result in a delay in your program start date by one calendar year.
Health requirement deadlines by program:
- BAT: May 1
- Traditional: July 1
- RN-BS: August 1
