Decker student staff
Decker College's Division of Advising and Academic Excellence hires high-achieving nursing students to serve as peer advisors and student ambassadors.
- Peer advisors assist with day-to-day office tasks and offer regularly scheduled walk-in hours to assist current and prospective Decker students.
- Student ambassadors represent the division at special events such as prospective student Q&A sessions and open house events.
Peer advisors
Peer advisors undergo extensive training and have a thorough knowledge of the admissions process, program requirements, registration processes and policies, as well as the Binghamton campus and support services. Their firsthand experiences at Binghamton University and in Decker College make them ideally suited to assist prospective and current nursing students with a range of issues.
Student ambassadors
Student ambassadors have extensive knowledge of our undergraduate and graduate programs, admissions process, the Binghamton campus and available support services. They are extensively trained to answer prospective and admitted students' questions, share their firsthand experiences and assist with staffing special events.
