Patricia's research and professional interests include the impact of community engaged learning on students' language development, second language acquisition in adults, needs-recognition in heritage language learners, and incorporating issues in American culture into her writing and speaking courses. Patricia previously taught at SUNY Broome and Zhenjiang International School, Jiangsu Province, China. She has co-presented at NYS-TESOL on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
Before entering the teaching profession, Patricia worked for international organizations in New York City and Washington D.C, and she strives to integrate her real-world experiences with her academic teaching.
When she is not in the classroom, Patricia enjoys reading, writing, traveling, power yoga, and photography. She considers herself a life-long learner and is currently in the Binghamton University MPA Program.
