Knowledge Communities

ELP participants are separated into 7 Knowledge Communities (KCs). Each of these small groups consist of 12 ELP participants (first year or transfer students), 2 mentors, a faculty advisor, and a staff advisor. The KCs meet weekly to discuss leadership and plan their service learning project (SLP). The KCs are theme-based so participants have a shared interest and focus for their SLP.

Participants indicate their KC preferences on the application. Placement is not based on major or residential community, but student interest.
