Course Registration

Closed Course Petition 
Submit this form if a required course is full and you need permission to enroll. 

Credit Overload Request
Submit this form if you want to take more than the maximum number of credits during a semester.

Academic Course Approval

Petition to Take Courses at Another University
Submit this form to request approval before taking coursework at another institution that you intend to transfer back to Binghamton.

Prerequisite Override Form 
Use this form if you have completed equivalent coursework or believe you meet the requirements for enrollment.

General Academic Petition
Submit this form to request an exception to the School of Management academic policies. 

Major & Concentration Declaration 

Declare Your Major or Concentration
Submit this form to declare your major or concentration in the School of Management. 

Internships & Independent Study 

For-Credit Internship Contract (MGMT 495/ACCT 495) 
Complete this form to receive academic credit for an approved internship.

For-Credit Teaching Assistant Position (MGMT 491 Teaching Practicum) 
Complete this form if you are serving as a teaching assistant for academic credit.

Independent Study (MGMT 497/ACCT 497) 
Submit this form if you are seeking credit for an Independent Study and already have an agreement with a faculty member.

Transferring into the School of Management

Intra-University Transfer or Double Degree 
Apply through BU Brain under the Intra-University/Double-Degree Application for Admission.

External Transfer
If you’re coming from a different college or school at the University, another accredited business school or a community college, the Undergraduate Academic Advising Office will help ease your transition and maximize your incoming credits to the School of Management.

Due to our AACSB Accreditation, transfer students from other AACSB-accredited business schools are generally able to transfer all of their degree credits to SOM. We accept certain courses from community colleges that offer associate degrees in business administration.
