Financial Aid

  • State and Federal Grants:
    • Pell Grants – federal aid for full- or part-time study. You can use Federal Pell Grants at colleges throughout the United States.
    • TAP Grants – The New York State Tuition Assistance Program is for state residents attending college full-time in New York state.
  • College Grants – based on need or academic ability
  • Other Grants:
    • Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)
    • Federal and State grants for part-time study
    • Opportunity Programs – EOP/HEOP
    • Scholarships and other awards
  • Loans – loans should be your last resort. You must pay back what you borrow. There are student loans and parent loans.
    • Student Loans – available for full- or part-time study. Guaranteed by the federal government. Low interest. You pay these back after college.
