Anderson Center for the Performing Arts
The Anderson Center for the Performing Arts is a multi-venue theater complex located on the campus of Binghamton University in Vestal, NY.
Since opening its doors in 1985, the Anderson Center has built a reputation as the premier performing arts venue in the region, hosting upwards of 175 performances and 100,000 guests annually. Programming ranges from world-renowned symphonies to student soloists, pop and rock concerts to dance troupes, opera to ballet, international theatre to undergraduate showcases, and just about everything in between. The crown jewel of the Anderson Center is the 1170 seat Osterhout Concert Theater, which uses retractable walls and sliding windows to morph into an amphitheater during summer months, allowing an additional 1500 guests to enjoy performances from outside under the stars. Additional facilities include the more intimate Watters Theater -- which seats 558 -- and the Chamber Hall -- which seats 408. In addition to welcoming world-class touring productions throughout the year, the Anderson Center serves as the main performance venue for the Binghamton University Music and Theatre Departments.
