Regional Director, NYS Division of of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Office of Emergency Management

Stephanie has worked for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, Office of Emergency Management since November of 2018.  During her time in DHSES, she has worked in both the Central NY Zone and Southern Tier Zone.  Currently she is the Regional Director covering both Zones totaling 14 Counties.  Prior to beginning her career in DHSES, she worked for 25 years in NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation working her way up from general maintenance to Park Manager.  In addition to her day-to-day duties, Stephanie was a long-term member of the Regional Safety Committee and the Regional Training Officer.

Since joining OEM Stephanie has had opportunity to support counties across the State working in many Joint Operation Centers, Incident Command Posts, Emergency Operation Centers and State Regional Operations Centers.  From large scale planned events such as the United Nations General Assembly, the Great New York State Fair and the World University Games, to unplanned events such as the 2022 and 2024 Buffalo Snowstorms.  While working the NYS COVID mission, Stephanie was recognized and asked to join the NYS Incident Management Team where she recently fulfilled the requirements to become a Finance Section Chief.  The IMT has allowed Stephanie to further the opportunity to work at local disasters such as the Jennings Creek Wildfire and the aftermath of the Rome Tornado, the Herkimer County Chronic Wasting Disease mission as well as national level events such as Tropical Storm Helene in Ashville, NC.

Stephanie has been married to her husband Brian for 30 years and together they have two children.  She enjoys spending time in the Adirondacks at their family camp, being with her family and friends and baking!  More often than not, she’ll show up with homemade baked goods as she travels across the State.
