Mark F. Pacholec

Associate VP of College Safety & Security, SUNY Erie Campus Police

Mark Pacholec is the Chief of Campus Safety and the Emergency Manager for SUNY Erie.  He is responsible for the safety of 7,000 students and 1,200 staff located at three campuses and three satellite locations. He oversees a 70-member department. He is a member of the Joint Oversight Committee for the Erie County Law Enforcement Training Academy and is an instructor as well. Mark joined SUNY Erie in July 2019.

Mark retired as the Chief of Police of the Orchard Park Police Department in May 2019. He was the co-chair for Counter Terrorism NYS Zone 15, President of the Erie County Chiefs of Police Association, Chiefs Liaison to the Erie County Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Managers Board, and Law Enforcement Liaison to the Buffalo Bills Review Committee. He is a Force Science Analyst and former SWAT Commander.

Mark retired from the United States Marine Corps with 26 years of service. He is an Unarmed/Close Combat Instructor, and Arctic/Mountain Warfare Instructor for II MEF SOTG. He has trained Marines, Sailers, US, and foreign military in Arctic/Mountain warfare operations in numerous locations around the world.
