Binghamton Writers Project
The Binghamton Writers Project is a literary service program of the Binghamton Center for Writers at Binghamton University. Founded by Nicole Santalucia in 2012, the project supports and coaches youth and adults in reading and writing creatively in workshops that are free and open to the public. Our mission is to increase literary engagement and to strengthen the Broome County poetry community, while connecting the university and its students with county residents. We also provide leadership positions for Creative Writing Ph.D. students and advance the efforts of the Binghamton Center for Writers.

Shin Watanabe, Co-Director
Shin Watanabe was born in Gainesville, Florida & has lived in New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, & Nevada. He studied philosophy at the University of Minnesota & received an M.F.A. in poetry at the University of Las Vegas. Shin is currently a Ph.D. student in English & Creative Writing at Binghamton University, where he is working on a creative dissertation in poetry.
Nicoletta LaMarca Sacco, co-director
Nicoletta LaMarca Sacco is passionate about languages, wordplay, and the spoken word. She taught ESOL for 27 ½ years before coming to Binghamton University. She is in her third year of the creative writing doctoral program immersing herself in poetry and CNF. Her writing has been published in Honeysuckle, Quill and Parchment, PLR (Paterson Literary Review) #49, New York Magazine’s The Cut, and parents.com.
