Arrival and Orientation

Welcome and orientation activities will be held by the Office of International Education and Global Initiatives (IEGI) for exchange students just prior to the University-wide new international student orientation and the orientation for all new students. Participation in the exchange orientation and the University-wide orientations is mandatory.

Information about the Exchange Welcome and Orientation will be sent by e-mail to admitted students prior to their arrival to Binghamton. More information about the international student orientation program can be found on the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) website.

New exchange students must arrive before the start of the Exchange Welcome and Orientation activities. The Office of International Education and Global Initiatives (IEGI) will notify admitted students of the date by which they should arrive.

Note that this is generally before the official opening date of on-campus housing for domestic and returning students. IEGI will arrange for permission for early arrival for students living on campus. Students must notify us at least four weeks before their arrival date and time by returning the Information for Admitted Students, so that we can make these arrangements.
