The Center for Science, Mathematics & Technology Education (CSMTE) was an active SUNY Research Foundation supported center, directed by Dr. Thomas O’Brien from the spring 2002 to fall 2011. Grant-funded projects were developed between the School of Education (predecessor to the Department of TLEL), Binghamton University's science departments and local area school districts. Given changes in national, NYS and campus funding opportunities and the director’s scholarly agenda (i.e., a shift to writing a series of four science education and two high school chemistry books to date), a decision was made to deactivate this center. However, the extensive listing of web-based science education resources continues to be periodically updated and is available to local, state and national K-college science teachers and teacher educators below.
