SSS offers access to several services and opportunities designed to fulfill eligible students' unique needs.
Mentorship Program
All incoming SSS students have the opportunity to be matched with a trained TRIO Mentor who can help them adjust to life on campus and navigate the challenges specific to SSS students. SSS students can also take advantage of Walk-in Peer Mentoring hours.
Tutoring
SSS provides free tutoring support for all of its program participants in a number of different subjects both by appointment and on a drop-in basis. Tutoring is available in several specific STEM courses, general humanities fields, writing and several languages.
SSS STEM
SSS offers specialized support for students in STEM fields, sharing resources and opportunities with them, as well as hosting special STEM events.
Leadership Opportunities
SSS provides students with a number of opportunities to develop leadership skills, offering various internship and employment opportunities within the office, as well as other opportunities, such as the SSS Student Advisory Board.
