Tutoring

SSS provides free academic success coaching support for all of its program participants in a number of different subjects both by appointment and on a drop-in basis. Academic success coaching is a combination of tutoring and success coaching and covers several specific STEM courses, general humanities fields, writing, several languages, and a variety of academic success topics such as study skills, note-taking skills, and time and task management.

Drop-in schedules are available on the SSS Academic Success Coaching Google Calendar. Anyone can see a drop-in coach during the time shown, so just come to the SSS/EOP Academic Success Center (UU 263). If you require assistance in a subject other than those listed on this page, contact Alicia Hibbard | 607-777-6879.

Long Night Against Procrastination Events

We run "Long Night Against Procrastination" events a couple of times during the semester and have tutoring during the event. During these events, we use the Pomodoro Technique to encourage productive study.

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have—rather than against it. Using this method, you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks. These intervals are referred to as pomodoros. After about four pomodoros, you take a longer break of about 15 to 20 minutes.

Long Night Events TBA!
