Incorporating Thin Viscosity Boundary Layer in 3D Acoustic Equations

comp

An approximate boundary condition is developed in this work to model fluid shear viscosity at boundaries of coupled fluid-structure system. The effect of shear viscosity is approximated by a correction term to the inviscid boundary condition, written in terms of second order in-plane derivatives of pressure. This finite element method-based approximation is several orders computationally economic than solving the full 3D Naiver-Stokes equation while accuracy is well retained.
