Memberships currently unavailable
The East Gym is closed until further notice. We are temporarily stopping the sale of fitness memberships.
To our members: We appreciate your understanding as we coordinate with University departments and administration to answer questions related to refunds.
Patrons will be refunded on a prorated basis for FitSpace memberships. Due to the nature of the process of refunding these fees, they are taking longer than our other refunds. We plan to have them completed in the month of May.
All currently enrolled Binghamton University students pay a recreation fee and have access to the Rec Center for open recreation activities like swimming, basketball, volleyball, tennis and disc golf. A fitness membership is required for access to the FitSpace fitness center and group fitness classes.
Note: Students must be enrolled in summer or fall classes to have access to the Rec Center during summer sessions.

Students not enrolled in a parent's health insurance plan may have the opportunity to receive a percentage of their annual or academic annual membership reimbursed.
In order to be eligible for reimbursement, the student must:
- be enrolled in the Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan;
- be an active member of the exercise facility (i.e., Binghamton University's FitSpace); and
- complete 50 visits in a six-month period.
At the end of the six-month period, the student must submit documentation of visits to the facility, a copy of the membership fee bill, a copy of our brochure and the UnitedHealthcare Claim Information Form. Our staff is happy to assist with any necessary FitSpace documentation to secure reimbursement.
If you are covered by your family insurance plan, check to see if your insurance carrier offers a similar wellness incentive.
