Harpur Academic Advising is home to general academic advising for Harpur College undergraduate students, as well as Pre-Health and Pre-Law Advising. A Harpur student's advising team is made up of both Harpur Academic Advising for general advising, and faculty/departmental advisor(s) for in-depth and specialized major planning. From Orientation to Commencement and beyond, we are here to help our students make informed decisions, understand academic policies, prepare for post-graduation opportunities, and connect our students with valuable campus resources that offer academic and personal support.

Pre-Professional Advising

Pre-Health Advising
Advising for students who plan on pursuing graduate programs in Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Podiatry, Veterinary Medicine, Chiropractic, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Public Health, and Physician Assistant.
Pre-Law Advising
Providing guidance on the law school admission process and legal careers to all Binghamton University students & alumni.
Pre-Education Advising
Advising through the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership (TLEL)

Harpur Advising Office Hours

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday & Friday: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Drop-in Advising Hours

  • General Advising: Monday - Friday from 2 - 4pm
  • Biology, Biochemistry, and Economics drop-in availability can be viewed on B-Successful.

Extended Drop-in Hours: October 27 - October 30 and November 4 - November 20

Regular appointment hours resume on November 23rd.

  • 10/28: Drop-ins 1:30 - 4pm
    10/29 Withdrawal/Grade Option Change Deadline: 9am - 4pm
    10/30: Drop-ins 10am - 4pm
  • 11/2 - 11/3: Appointments 9am - 12:30pm, General Advising Drop-ins 2 - 4pm
    11/4 - 11/6: Drop-ins 9am - 4pm
  • 11/9 - 1/13: Drop-ins 9am - 4pm
    11/16 - 11/20: Drop-ins 9am - 4pm

Bookable Zoom Drop-ins

During the extended drop-in period, Bookable Zoom Drop-ins can be scheduled a day in advance on B-Successful during the following times:

  • General Advising: 11:30am - 1:30pm
  • Biology, Biochemistry, and Economics: 9am - 12:30pm 
  • Environmental Studies: By Appointment Only
