Automated Control Systems and Robotics Lab

Welcome to the Automated Control Systems and Robotics (ACSR) Lab and the research group of Assistant Professor Kaiyan Yu in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Binghamton University. We are actively working on the automated control and robotic systems in both micro and macro scales. Our current research mainly focuses on the planning and control methods for automated and robotic systems to achieve optimal and robust performances. Such systems include smart agents/robots and their interactions with human or biological components at varying scales from micro-nano environments to civil infrastructure and manufacturing enterprises. In our group, we try to develop automated micro-bio-nano factories that are capable of precisely and reliably manipulating a large number of nano/micro/bio objects simultaneously. Our research adopts a synergy approach involving theory, simulation and experiment.
