Clubs and cultural events

Our department also has a local chapter of Phi Sigma Iota, the international language honor society; majors who qualify for induction receive an advantage on civil service exams, as well as access to job postings (see the website phisigmaiota.org).

Additionally, Spanish majors may also qualify for Sigma Delta Phi, the Spanish honor society, and Italian majors for Gamma Kappa Alpha, the Italian honor society. We also have many cultural events throughout the year, including film series, concerts in the languages, cultural evenings, holiday celebrations and national traditions.

 

Spanish
La Mesa de Español
"La Mesa de Español" is a meeting place for students who want to develop and/or improve their Spanish conversation skills. The meetings can include
informal conversation about current issues, games, music, etc. All levels of proficiency are welcome. Please, contact Professor Marisol Marcin for more information.
BU Spanish Club
The Spanish Club is an organization dedicated to promoting and celebrating the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world through social and cultural activities in our community. It is a great new way of meeting people from all over the world!
Spanish outside the Classroom: Extracurricular Activities
Every semester Spanish interns and instructors organize numerous activities including Film Series, Talks and Cultural Celebrations, such as Mexican Day of the Dead, Spanish Tapas, Andalusian Easter, Hispanic Heritage Month, etc. 
 
Italian
The Italian Coffee Hour

Italian Movie Night

Italian Game Night
Come to the Italian Game Night to practice and learn Italian while playing games a fun and relaxed atmosphere. All levels are welcome. Please, contact Rachel Samiani for more information.

La Table Française
