Rent a Zipcar today!
Binghamton University has partnered with Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing service provider, to bring car sharing to campus. This convenient transportation option is now available at an affordable rate, 24/7 for students, faculty and staff ages 18 and older, as well as members of the local community over the age of 21.
Register online to become a Zipcar member. Once a registered member, cars can be reserved online or from a phone for as little as an hour or as long as seven days. Students will then scan into the car using their Zipcard, and drive away.
This year, Binghamton University members can join for $15, with an hourly rate of $7.50 and a daily rate of $69. After the first year, members will pay an annual membership fee of $35. Gas, insurance, and up to 180 miles of driving per day are included in Zipcar rates.
Binghamton offers five Zipcars. With three vehicles parked right on campus in Lot D between the parking garage and the Anderson Center and two vehicles in Lot Y4 behind Windham Hall in Mountainview College, it’s easy to get downtown, do errands or even go on a road trip. For your convenience, green OCCT shuttle buses stop at both Zipcar locations. For lot D, use the East Gym stop and for lot Y4, use the Mountainview stop.
